as someone who's been going through it lately in regards to mental health and specifically recovery, I adore the fact that ctommy's answer to the question "are you happy?" was "Getting there." Not 'Yes', not 'This is a happy ending of course I'm happy', but "Getting there." and it's been two years. this stuff takes time, and it feels gruelling and exhausting but he's Getting there. he will be soon. that means so so much to me. I'm getting there.

One time Ponyboy went to a party with some school friends and got super drunk. When the party ended and he couldn't find his friends anywhere, he called Soda to pick him up. Soda, being the good brother he is, says that he'll be there as soon as he can.

So, he drives to the address, finds Ponyboy, helps him to the truck, and gets back on the road.

Ponyboy then proceeds to sob (and I mean SOB, like hiccups, snot, tears) almost the entire way home.

He eventually calms down a little, and Soda asks him what the hell the matter was. Ponyboy looks over at him and cries out "Please don't tell Darry that I'm drunk! He'll be so mad!" before beginning to cry even harder, repeatedly begging Soda to "not tell Darry he was drunk.""

Soda rubs his back and reassures him over and over that he won't tell, and that nobody was going to be mad at him.

This calms Ponyboy down enough that he closes his eyes and passes out, resting his head in Darry's lap, who had been sitting in the passenger seat the entire time.

one of my favorite things about eddsworld is how it uses the classic cartoon trope of everyone dying at the end of an episode and then being totally fine by the next one. fuck continuity!

the zombeh attacks definitely did happen. at some point. in some reality. i guess i would say, Edd, Tom, Matt, and Tord remember what happened in the eddisodes. outside of that...

3-D Rendering reference

I tried to do this in watercolor & pencil first…(hated it)

So I went digital

Final unaltered version. I adjusted the color which make it a little sharper and added a vinaigrette border for the final one since I wanted it a little darker.
